RAEY of Hope is a registered Australian Charity established to support the RAEY School and Community in Yerer, Ethiopia.
We are passionate about providing an excellent education to our students and to the wider RAEY community. We provide an enhanced curricula with volunteers providing supplementary classes in music, art, geography and much more.
We conduct 2-3 medical missions a year in order to constantly monitor the health of the RAEY School community including students and their families. We focus on HIV related illness and other infectious diseases. We promote immunization and a special nutrient and calcium rich diet as well as dealing with acute illness management.
Empowerment of the school community is central to reduce poverty. Our programs aim to include the guardians and the greater community in educational and sustainable project work. Each student and their families are given hope and a chance to live a life free of desperate poverty.
To give Ethiopian children a self-sustainable future through quality education and good health.
To facilitate, coordinate and support volunteers in a diverse range of projects (teaching, health provision, agriculture and engineering).
To raise awareness and educate community groups about the RAEY School.
To support and upskill RAEY's Ethiopian teachers and founders.
To ensure delivery of high standards of education with a focus on supporting the English language within the curriculum.
To provide sponsors with an ongoing insight into the world of the RAEY School and community.
To create a local base for support to ensure long term funding and expansion of the school to ensure child protection policy is adhered to.
To continue investing in sustainability projects that provide fundamental income to the community.
The RAEY of Hope Board are an Adelaide based team comprised of a doctor, dietitian, nurse, accountant and human resource and leadership consultants. All members are parents and committed to ensuring the RAEY vision continues after having witnessed first-hand this incredible NGO at work.
